History

The MIT Enterprise Forum is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and strengthening technology-oriented startups, allowing them to grow and prosper.

Founded in 1978 as part of the MIT Alumni Association, the Enterprise Forum offers over 300 educational and networking events through our current 28 chapters globally. Enterprise Forum participation and involvement is open to anyone interested in entrepreneurship - MIT graduates and non-graduates - and attracts executives, business leaders, venture capitalists, industry experts, and service organizations, in addition to our core of emerging entrepreneurs with technology business expectations.

The most valuable component of the Enterprise Forum is the networking connections that are developed amongst technology entrepreneurs and the communities in which they reside.

Bangalore Chapter

MIT Enterprise Forum Bangalore chapter intends to:

  • Be the platform for entrepreneurial networking, inspiration and education for Indian technology startup ventures.
  • Foster a community of volunteers sharing resources, knowledge, and a passion for entrepreneurship and wealth creation.
  • Have a technology focus, while maintaining an India perspective of addressing the base of the pyramid opportunities and localization requirements to bring technology closer to the mass of people and enhance their lives.
  • Interface with the government and other constituencies of civil society to shape technology issues, providing thought leadership and recommendations in the design and administration of early stage grants for entrepreneurs, regulations, and standards.
  • Be a bridge between MIT / MIT-EF and the Indian ecosystem to facilitate a two-way flow of ideas, technologies, opportunities and expertise.

We aim to enable this by providing in depth coverage of case studies, industry and technology opportunities that target the Grand Challenges.

Mission Statement
